Ralph Turner has produced signs most of his life, starting in High School. Here are some examples. Today the concentration is on carved signs for business, industry, professionals, and institutions. Most of the signage reflects Starting from Ralph’s calligraphy background and study of the Roman letter. He worked for a short time for Sam Markson in Portland, Oregon, while going to school (1956). Interest in symbols, icons, petroglyphs, Chinese calligraphy and Egyptian hieroglyphs has also influenced the work.
